Eight Sleep Launches Pod 6 Sleep System With Smaller Hub and 18 Sensors
Eight Sleep announced the Pod 6, a smart sleep system with a redesigned cooling hub that is half the size of previous versions, 18 biometric sensors and a new $1,999 Solo option. Standard models cost $2,699 to $2,999 and every model requires an Autopilot subscription.
The Pod 6 is available now through Eight Sleep's online store. The Standard version costs $2,699 for a full-size mattress and $2,999 for king and California king sizes, according to The Verge. For the first time, Eight Sleep is offering a Solo option for single sleepers, with a cover that fits half of any size mattress, priced at $1,999. Engadget reports the Solo model starts at $2,000 and that prices reach up to $3,000 depending on mattress size. The system is compatible with accessories such as a $999 cooling pillow cover, and it requires a subscription to Eight Sleep's Autopilot program. The Verge reports the subscription ranges from $199 to $399 per year for two sleepers; Engadget reports it costs $17 to $25 per month.
Eight Sleep says the control hub was rebuilt from scratch, with electrical, mechanical and software systems re-engineered together. It is half the size of previous versions and can be hidden under most beds. The hub circulates temperature-controlled water through the mattress cover. The company says the Pod 6 is 20 percent faster at making temperature adjustments and offers the fastest temperature response of any of its products, intended to handle night sweats and chills.
The Pod 6 has 18 biometric sensors, up from two in the Pod 5, according to Eight Sleep. The Pod 5 launched in 2025 with two biometric sensors integrated into the mattress cover. The Pod 6 sensors track heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, sleep stages and snoring for two people, whether they sleep next to each other or on opposite sides of the bed. The system can also distinguish between adults, children and pets. The data is available in a proprietary app and feeds the AI-powered Autopilot feature, which makes automatic temperature adjustments throughout the night based on sleep stage and ambient temperature without manual input.
The new Solo version does not change functionality except that it lacks a dual-zone temperature regulation system, according to Engadget. Standard sizes accommodate two people's individual needs simultaneously.
