Epson EcoTank ET-4800 drops to $200 at Amazon, says TechRadar

Amazon has cut the Epson EcoTank ET-4800 to $200, a $100 discount on a printer with up to two years of ink, per TechRadar.

The ET-4800 prints, scans, copies, and faxes, with wireless and Ethernet connectivity. It includes an automatic document feeder for multi-page jobs and works with the Epson Smart Panel app for mobile printing and scanning. According to TechRadar, the printer ships with four bottles of ink, which the company says is enough for up to two years of typical use.

TechRadar has not tested this specific model, but it has evaluated other EcoTank printers, including the ET-3850 and ET-4850, which it praised for performance and value. The outlet says the EcoTank refillable system remains the strongest alternative to cartridge printers, reducing ink costs by up to 90 percent over the life of the printer.

The current price is just 99 cents above the lowest-ever price recorded in August 2024, according to TechRadar, so the outlet expects no further drops in the near term. The effective savings are greater than the $100 discount indicates because of the included ink.

Potential buyers should note that the ET-4800 supports only manual duplex printing, not automatic. TechRadar recommends the printer for users who print frequently, want fax and Ethernet, or need a wired connection as a Wi-Fi backup. It suggests skipping it if you need automatic double-sided printing or prefer a model with hands-on review.
