EU filing reveals iPhone Duo’s 4,883mAh two-cell battery
An EU filing shows iPhone Duo has a 4,883mAh two-cell battery, between the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max.
The document shows the capacity comes from two cells: one rated at 2,962mAh and another at 1,921mAh. Combined, the 4,883mAh pack sits almost exactly between the iPhone 18 Pro’s 4,288mAh battery and the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s 5,567mAh battery, based on the eSIM versions 9to5Mac compared. The report noted that eSIM versions have larger battery cells than physical SIM versions.
In the comparison published by 9to5Mac, the iPhone Duo ranks below only the iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro Max in capacity. The iPhone 18 Pro Max has 5,567mAh, 14% more than the Duo, and Apple lists 45 hours of video playback. The iPhone 17 Pro Max has 5,088mAh, 4% more, with 39 hours listed.
Apple lists the iPhone Duo at 44 hours of video playback on the outer display and 31 hours on the inner display. That inner-display estimate is lower than the 45 hours listed for the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the 36 hours listed for the iPhone 18 Pro, even though the Duo’s physical battery capacity is larger than the 18 Pro’s.
The rest of the comparison shows the iPhone 16 Pro Max at 4,685mAh, 4% less than the Duo, with 33 hours of video playback; the iPhone 18 Pro at 4,288mAh, 12% less, with 36 hours; the iPhone 17 Pro at 4,252mAh, 13% less, with 33 hours; the iPhone 17e at 4,005mAh, 18% less, with 26 hours; the iPhone 17 at 3,692mAh, 24% less, with 30 hours; and the iPhone Air at 3,149mAh, 36% less, with 27 hours.
9to5Mac said the iPhone Duo therefore has one of the largest battery capacities in an iPhone, with only the two most recent Pro Max models exceeding it. The report added that compared with other recent iPhones, the Duo has a physically larger battery, though users will get less battery life if they frequently use the larger inner display.
