Even Realities Launches Brown 2 G2 Smart Glasses and New Accessories
Even Realities launched the $649 Brown 2 version of its G2 smart glasses, plus $149 sun clips and a $79 chain.
According to Android Authority, the new color is inspired by classic tortoiseshell frames and comes in two styles, one rounded and one more square-shaped. Engadget reported that every frame is individually shaped, pressed, tumbled and polished for 20 hours, creating subtle variations, and that Brown 2 is lighter than the standard G2.
Beyond the color and weight, Brown 2 uses the same hardware as the G2. Engadget reported that the display can show live translation, notifications and a teleprompter, and that a recent software update added new gestures and more refined on-glasses controls. The glasses can also monitor AI coding agents as they work, the outlet said.
Engadget said it had been impressed with many aspects of the G2 and described its feature set as close to a platonic ideal for smart glasses, but found the control scheme clunky, especially when paired with a smart ring. The software update has addressed that issue somewhat, according to the report.
The new polarized sun clips attach to the glasses to add a sunglasses option, while the chain is designed to be worn around the neck when the glasses are not in use. Android Authority reported that all three products are available worldwide. Engadget called the $79 chain expensive.
Even Realities is positioning the launch as an expansion of a product line that aims to put useful information in front of the wearer while retaining the look of regular eyewear. Android Authority noted that Meta has already shown demand for smart glasses, while other companies are experimenting with cameras, AI features and other approaches.
