Steam login outage affects users across multiple countries
Steam users reported login failures on Oct. 26, 2026, with more than 1,000 Downdetector reports and a possible link to recently installed files.
The report said the number of outage reports appeared to still be climbing. Users on Reddit said they were getting stuck on a “Loading User Data…” message. Based on those reports, the problem may have some connection to recently installed files.
The effects were felt across the globe, with reports coming from Canada, Japan, the UK, Poland and other countries, according to Android Authority. The outage affected users who had planned to play PC games early in the day.
Steam is Valve’s digital storefront. Android Authority said it would continue to monitor the situation and update its article when the service appeared to be back online.
