FanShi and over ten robot makers launch PhanthyMotus co-building plan in Beijing to break hardware silos in embodied intelligence.

The industry faces a structural mismatch: developers are hampered by high hardware barriers, code cannot be reused across robot models, manufacturers are forced into custom delivery, and customers lack standardized solutions.

FanShi co-founder and chief scientist Chen Yuqiang said the industry has shifted from point-by-point technology competition to ecosystem competition. PhanthyMotus aims to be a universal middle-layer base that decouples hardware, algorithms and scenarios, allowing each party to focus on its strength.

In just two months, the community has attracted developers from Unitree, Zhiyuan, DJI, Zongqing, Yunshen, Leju, Luoshi, Franka Robotics, etc. Developers have contributed over 600,000 lines of code, completed adaptation of 15+ mainstream robot bodies, and accumulated 200+ standardized hardware driver modules, covering humanoid, quadruped, wheeled, manipulator, and drone forms. This enables zero-cost cross-model algorithm reuse.

FanShi launched a developer incentive plan: open a full-category hardware resource pool for remote debugging, and provide free computing tokens to code contributors.

By the end of 2026, FanShi plans to complete 50+ body adaptations, expand 500+ brain algorithms, and accumulate 10,000+ community shared skills, aiming to build a "skill app store" for embodied intelligence.

The community adheres to "no vendor lock-in, only open co-building." The official website motus.phanthy.com is open for global developers.
