Fantasy Footballers’ Andy Holloway: A Zero-Inbox Guy in a World of Notifications
The Verge entrevista ao co-apresentador do Fantasy Footballers, Andy Holloway, sobre como ele mantém o foco durante a temporada da NFL, sua paixão por Whoop e o orgulho de construir o podcast com os amigos.
Holloway, who hosts the show with friends Jason Moore and Mike Wright, said his goal has always been to bring fantasy football to a wider audience, not just hardcore fans. When asked what he would change about his phone, he said he wishes it were less intrusive in everyday life, noting that despite customizing everything, he still feels overwhelmed by notifications and messages that "seem" required.
He also said he keeps only two browser tabs open at a time and prefers a tidy, zero-inbox approach. His favorite gadget is the Whoop fitness tracker, which he resisted for years but now loves because it keeps him motivated and accountable, barely needs charging, and builds camaraderie with friends.
The creation he is most proud of is The Fantasy Footballers. He recalled that people told them they could not bootstrap the project, but working with his best friends on something they loved was the most satisfying accomplishment. To focus, he tries to knock out a bunch of small tasks in a short period so he can clear the noise and concentrate on high-priority items.
The last piece of physical media he bought was the vinyl album of Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide. If his life were a biopic, the tagline would be "The Man Who Overthought Everything."
