FiiO's DP11 CD Player Adds USB Ripping as CD Revenue Grows

FiiO's DP11 CD player launches in October for $185, adding CD playback, USB ripping and MQA-CD passthrough.

The player is arriving while physical CD spending is rising in the United States. The Recording Industry Association of America says CD revenue increased 58 percent in the first half of 2026, with volume up 45 percent, according to TechRadar. That growth has coincided with a broader run of new CD players, including high-end and retro-styled models. TechRadar said it published a roundup of nine of the coolest new CD player releases last month.

FiiO is positioning the DP11 as a desktop or hi-fi companion rather than a portable CD Walkman. The player has a 3.7-inch screen, a tray-loading mechanism FiiO describes as quiet, and a dedicated remote control. It also supports MQA-CD bitstream passthrough, a setting that sends raw, unaltered digital audio from an MQA-encoded CD to an external digital-to-analog converter.

The USB socket allows users to rip CDs without a laptop, saving lossless files directly to a USB stick. FiiO says the DP11's output options make it suitable for use with streaming headphone amplifiers such as its K17, or speaker amplifiers such as its new EA13 analog tube amp. For a compact desktop headphone setup, FiiO points to the K13 R2R DAC.

FiiO also sells a Modular Hi-Fi Device Storage Rack, which TechRadar noted could be bought alongside the DP11 for a matching look. The company's existing portable CD player, the DM15 R2R, was cited by TechRadar as evidence that listeners are still interested in new CDs as well as older collections.

The DP11's launch price is $185 / €184.99, which converts to around £140 or AU$265. TechRadar described the price as affordable for a desktop CD player. TechRadar reported the DP11 will launch in October.
