Fire Country Season 5 Premieres Oct. 9 on CBS With Sinkhole Rescue

Fire Country season 5 premieres Oct. 9 on CBS with a sinkhole rescue and a new Bode mystery, TechRadar says.

TechRadar reported that the fifth season opens with the aftermath of the Pineville Dam flooding, while the Founders Day celebrations are cut short by a huge sinkhole opening under Main Street. Station 42 returns to rescue residents. The new season has 13 episodes and is led by new showrunner Eric Guggenheim. A special crossover event with Sheriff Country is scheduled for November.

The cast includes Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan, Kevin Alejandro as Manuel "Manny" Perez, Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford, Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards, Diane Farr as Sharon Leone, and Olivia Thirlby as CJ Ryan.

TechRadar provided synopses for the first two episodes. The Oct. 9 premiere will see Edgewater celebrating its annual Founders' Day festival when a catastrophic sinkhole opens beneath Main Street, trapping residents underground and forcing Station 42 into a high-stakes rescue; a mysterious former firefighter arrives in Edgewater. On Oct. 16, a fast-moving wildfire threatens Edgewater, and Station 42 and Three Rock battle increasingly dangerous conditions to contain the blaze, while Sharon helps uncover a critical lead in an active investigation. On Oct. 23, as financial pressures pile on Station 42, Bode is determined to prove that the volunteer firefighting program can have an impact. Further episodes are scheduled for Oct. 30, Nov. 6, Nov. 13, and Nov. 20, with 13 episodes in total.

In the US, TechRadar said viewers can watch Fire Country season 5 for free with a TV antenna or cable package that provides access to the CBS broadcast. Cord-cutters can use free trials from Fubo, YouTube TV, and Hulu + Live TV, all of which carry CBS, though payment is required after the trial to keep watching. The show is also available on Paramount+ Premium for $13.99 per month, streaming live alongside its TV broadcast, and CBS can be streamed through Fubo at $79.99 per month. Episodes can be watched the next day with the Paramount+ Essential tier, which is included in a $1 Walmart+ 30-day trial, according to TechRadar; viewers must select Paramount+ to use that offer.

For viewers outside the US, TechRadar reported that Canada will carry Fire Country season 5 on Global TV and STACKTV, and Paramount+ subscribers in Canada can also tune in. In Australia, there is no planned streaming release or linear broadcast for season 5, and in the UK there is no streaming or broadcast plan in place. US viewers abroad can use a VPN to access their usual streaming service, TechRadar said. The article recommended NordVPN, claiming it offers up to 75% off, three extra months free, and can unlock Paramount Plus.
