Floccus: Free tool syncs bookmarks across Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and more

Floccus works with Opera, Vivaldi, Brave, and Kiwi, and supports Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as iOS and Android through its standalone app. The program is completely free, with no ads or subscriptions. Its flexibility and security are praised in the report.

Users can store their bookmarks in a variety of places, including Google Drive, Dropbox, self-hosted Nextcloud, Linkwarden, KaraKeep, or Git services. Those with a NAS device can set it up as a WebDAV server to house bookmarks, and WebDAV also works with many cloud-based services. Since bookmarks are stored through the user's own cloud account or NAS, they remain private. If stored on Google Drive or via WebDAV, the file can be encrypted with a password or passphrase.

Floccus is installed through a browser extension available for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and other Chromium-based browsers. After setup, bookmarks automatically sync whenever a change is made. The tool integrates with built-in menus and sidebars in each browser, so the user experience for viewing and launching bookmarks remains unchanged.
