Forza Horizon 6 Delayed to January 26, 2027 on PS5, Arrives With First Expansion

Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PS5 on January 26, 2027, after being delayed from 2026, and will arrive alongside its first expansion.

The Verge reported last month that the PS5 launch would slip to early next year. The game first debuted on Xbox and PC on May 15, according to The Verge; Engadget reported it launched in May. The expansion will also be available on Xbox and PC in January, The Verge said.

On PS5, players can buy a Premium Edition that includes early access, Engadget reported. A trailer shows the first expansion will arrive with the PS5 version; Premium Edition owners will have access to it, while other players can buy it separately. The Premium Edition can be upgraded to from the standard version.

Forza Horizon 5 proved popular on PS5 after Microsoft released it on Sony's console last year, The Verge said. Playground Games is bringing Forza Horizon 6 to PS5 about a month before its next game, Fable, which is set for release on Xbox Series X/S, PC and PS5 on February 23, Engadget reported. Engadget noted that Xbox's current leadership has signaled a change in exclusivity strategy, so Fable might be one of the last Xbox games to hit PlayStation outside of Call of Duty and perhaps StarCraft. Engadget also speculated the PS5 delay might give Forza Horizon 6 breathing room from Grand Theft Auto 6.
