FrozenPlain open-sources Floe, a cross-platform audio plugin for sample libraries

FrozenPlain's Sam has open-sourced Floe, a free audio plugin for sample libraries on Linux, macOS and Windows, inviting feedback from composers and developers.

Floe is aimed at musicians, composers and producers, particularly those involved in film, TV and game scoring or ambient music. Sam said he open-sourced the project primarily because he is fond of the philosophy and wants to serve a wider audience than just users of his own libraries.

The plugin requires a DAW to run. Users can download Floe from floe.audio, choose free sample-library packages from community packages or FrozenPlain's Music Box Suite Free, and install them using Floe's 'Install Package' button.

In the Hacker News post, Sam invited feedback on the open-source nature of the project, directions for expanding the audience, and the Lua-based sample-library format it uses. At the time of publication, the post had received four points and no comments.
