In a post on X, Ice Universe said the Xiaomi 18 Pro's unique split-screen privacy protection system will make its way to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The mechanism would dim only one app in split-screen view while keeping the other app in its normal, visible state, even when the user resizes the dimmed window. That approach would apply privacy protection selectively rather than darkening the entire display.

Samsung previously introduced Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which uses hardware-level screen dimming to reduce the ability of nearby people to see what is on the screen. Android Authority described that implementation as setting the industry standard for the feature. Several brands have since revealed their own versions of privacy-focused display technology.

Xiaomi's 18 Pro series, announced shortly before the claim, includes Smart Privacy Display. According to Android Authority, Xiaomi's implementation takes the concept to another level, and the split-screen behavior is one of its distinctive elements. Ice Universe said Xiaomi appears to have more features tied to this privacy function, but the leaker added that Samsung still has the upper hand in overall dimming capacity.

The claim points to Samsung's early 2027 smartphone, which the leaker identifies as the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Samsung has not announced the device or the split-screen privacy feature, and the information comes from a leaker rather than an official company statement.
