Gamescom 2026 opening night revealed The Witcher 3 Remake, Silent Hill: Townfall, Gears of War: E-Day and more, with release dates set through 2027.
The Witcher 3 Remake was officially confirmed during the stream, although no further details were provided. Silent Hill: Townfall showed its latest gameplay, a psychological horror story set in 1996 Scotland, following Simon Odel as he returns to St. Amelia Island. Gears of War: E-Day presented a new trailer depicting the brutal Emergence Day, fourteen years before the original game, with Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago fighting for survival.
Other established franchises made appearances. Heroes of Might and Magic III: Remake was announced, and Rayman: Legends Reimagined will launch on October 1. The historical strategy game Humankind 2 is set for 2027, while Metro 2039, from 4A Games, received a new trailer. Numerous new IPs also debuted. Elta: Defying the Gods offers fast-paced action-platforming with a dragon companion, while Acornia: Mirror Worlds mixes baking and brawling across parallel dimensions. Perceptum, a psychological horror game about a medium investigating a disappearance, is scheduled for 2027. Afterworld, from Paradox Development Studio, is an original post-apocalyptic grand strategy game. Dust Origins is an isometric survival horror shooter set on a dying orbital prison.
Several release dates were confirmed: Animo arrives in September, the souls-like Immortal Legacy hits October 14, and the open-world action game Wuxian Da is slated for January 15, 2027.
