Garmin launches fēnix 9 series with titanium, solar charging, and smarter stamina tracking

Garmin's fēnix 9 series debuts Aug 25, 2026, with titanium cases, brighter AMOLED displays, solar charging, and enhanced stamina tracking, starting at $999.99.

According to Android Authority, the base fēnix 9 gets an AMOLED display twice as bright as the fēnix 8, with a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, leakproof buttons, and dive rating up to 40 meters. RAM has been increased by 50% to 64GB, and a more powerful map engine pans 30% faster.

New features include Perspective View, built-in routable maps, Garmin Epic, stamina zones and stamina curve, and additional indoor rowing insights like VO2 Max and power curve.

The fēnix 9 Pro is the first in the lineup with a titanium watch case, and the 51mm model has Garmin's first 1.5-inch AMOLED display, extending the screen area by 15% over the fēnix 8 without increasing case size. Select Pro models also include solar charging displays, LTE connectivity, and SOS communication, allowing the watch to be used independently of a smartphone.

InReach connectivity enhancements include LiveTrack notifications in the Garmin Messenger app, a Garmin Locate feature, and weather forecasts sent via satellite or LTE.

Pricing starts at $999.99 for the fēnix 9 43mm and 47mm; the 51mm is $1,099.99. The fēnix 9 Pro starts at $1,099.99 for 43mm and 47mm, with the 51mm costing $1,199.99.

ZDNet reports that the Pro Solar variant uses a solar charging MIP display instead of AMOLED, and the company has also introduced ComfortFit fabric bands with a split-weave design. The Fenix 8 Pro remains a more affordable option, with a $250 savings.
