GasPulse Tracks Gas Price Trends on iPhone, 9to5Mac Reports
GasPulse, featured by 9to5Mac, is a free iPhone app for tracking gas price trends, historical prices, outlook estimates, state comparisons, alerts and widgets.
GasPulse uses weekly averages published by the Energy Information Administration to show prices for each state or region, 9to5Mac reported. The app is not intended to identify the cheapest gas station. Instead, it presents price trends with charts, and it includes up to five years of historical prices.
An Outlook feature offers estimates of what users might expect in the future, giving some insight into whether prices may rise or fall. GasPulse also provides state-by-state comparisons, allowing users to see how prices around them compare.
GasPulse offers free price alerts for up to six areas, though the alerts rely on iOS background refresh, according to 9to5Mac. It also supports home screen and lock screen widgets, allowing users to check information without opening the app. Siri support is included as well.
The app is available for free on the App Store for iPhone users running iOS 18 and later. According to 9to5Mac, GasPulse has no subscription requirement and is ad-free.
The spotlight is part of a weekly 9to5Mac series showcasing apps from independent developers. Developers who want their apps featured can contact the publication, 9to5Mac said.
