Geely launches Galaxy Battleship 700, a 1,129-hp off-road SUV from 179,800 yuan
Geely launched the Galaxy Battleship 700 on Oct. 10, a six-version off-road SUV with a GTA new-energy architecture, up to 1,129 hp, 800mm wading depth and prices from 179,800 yuan after customer benefits.
The six versions are the 305km 1.5T two-wheel-drive Explorer at 179,800 yuan, the 305km 1.5T two-wheel-drive Explorer+ at 189,800 yuan, the 280km 1.5T tri-motor four-wheel-drive Yufeng at 209,800 yuan, the 280km 1.5T tri-motor four-wheel-drive Yufeng+ at 219,800 yuan, the 270km 2.0T tri-motor four-wheel-drive Dingfeng at 249,800 yuan and the Land Ark Edition at 369,800 yuan.
The vehicle is 5,085mm long, 1,999mm wide and has a 2,900mm wheelbase, with a five-seat layout. Its height is 1,895mm for the Yufeng+ and 1,912mm for the other five versions. The front uses an “Eastern Lion” design language with round-eye lights and a square, upright body to create a boxy off-road look.
Inside, Geely emphasized family practicality. The SUV has flat door sills, a flat rear floor and rear doors that open to 80 degrees. The trunk holds 1,050 liters, and folding the second row creates a 1.8-meter-deep flat double bed with 950mm of net sitting height. Ventilated and heated front and rear seats are standard; Explorer+ and above add 14-point front hip and back massage, a front passenger leg rest and a rear right small table. An official roof tent expands from the dual-opening panoramic sunroof.
All versions have a 10.2-inch instrument cluster, a 15.4-inch 2K center screen and a 15.2-inch W-HUD, with a front passenger screen from the Yufeng+ upward. The cabin runs Flyme Auto 2 on a Longying 6P chip, with “Super Eva” voice interaction, four-zone voice control and “visible can be spoken” commands. A physical gear lever and off-road control island sit on the center console, while an 18.5-liter dual-opening refrigerator covers -6°C to 50°C and a 23-speaker Flyme Sound system uses a 7.1.4 layout. Explorer+, Yufeng and Yufeng+ use Qianli Haohan H5 with Orin-Y; Dingfeng and Land Ark use H7 with Thor-U. Both systems provide urban and highway NOA and door-to-door parking-to-parking navigation assist. All versions offer 6kW external discharge, a 220V trunk outlet and tailgate mini-bar expansion.
The GTA architecture embeds an integrated beam into a load-bearing body rather than using a separate ladder frame under the body. Geely says torsional rigidity reaches 44,000 N·m/deg, the body uses a 6-horizontal, 7-longitudinal, 8-ring cage frame, a hidden roll cage is made of 11 high-strength heat-expanded tubes and roof compression resistance is 161kN. The company says the integrated beam is more than 30% stronger than a traditional ladder frame and torsional rigidity is more than twice that of traditional hardcore off-road vehicles. Four-wheel-drive versions use the Leishen EM-T all-terrain intelligent hybrid system, with a front P3 motor, two rear P4 motors and a P1 generator. The rear motors drive the left and right rear wheels independently, allowing torque to be adjusted side to side; together with a mechanical rear differential lock on 2.0T four-wheel-drive models, the system provides two intelligent virtual locks. It also enables a “waltz turn” and agile steering. The 1.5T tri-motor four-wheel-drive version has 690kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. The 2.0T tri-motor four-wheel-drive version reaches 830kW, or 1,129 hp, and 0 to 100 km/h in 3.95 seconds.
Four-wheel-drive models carry the G-ATS intelligent all-terrain system with snow, mud, sand, rock, Gobi and wading modes, plus off-road cruise, smart climb and real-time off-road view. With the WAM World Behavior Model, high-precision Magic Carpet preview can identify road conditions 15 meters ahead and adjust suspension damping in milliseconds. All versions have aluminum front double-wishbone independent suspension, and the two 2.0T four-wheel-drive models upgrade the rear to aluminum double wishbones. Dual-chamber closed air suspension is fitted to the Yufeng+ and Dingfeng, with multi-level adjustment of ride height and spring stiffness. Low-speed four-wheel drive is offered on the two 2.0T four-wheel-drive models. In smart climb mode, the vehicle automatically enters low-speed four-wheel drive and controls power, leaving the driver to steer. The mechanical differential lock rigidly locks the speed difference between the rear wheels in extreme conditions and works with millisecond torque distribution from the rear dual motors. The two 2.0T models support 800mm wading depth and have a wading sensor; Geely demonstrated the capability by driving the SUV through a water channel at the launch event. The higher Land Ark Edition adds active hydraulic suspension, emergency floating escape and diffused and nasal oxygen supply.
All six versions use a 47.14kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate battery, a configuration that does not separate high and low trims by battery size. The pack uses a concave layout and a dedicated underbody guard. Minimum battery ground clearance is 313mm with the normal suspension and 300mm in standard state with air suspension on the Yufeng+ and Dingfeng. Geely says 6C fast charging peaks at 300kW and takes 10 minutes to go from 10% to 80%. All versions also have an 80-liter fuel tank. The two-wheel-drive version has 305km of CLTC electric range and 1,770km of combined range, while the tri-motor version has a maximum combined range of 1,520km. In low-charge conditions, WLTC combined fuel consumption is 5.95L/100km for the two-wheel-drive version, 6.95L/100km for the 1.5T four-wheel-drive version and 7.25L/100km for the Dingfeng.
Geely positions the two-wheel-drive version for city and highway use, with the longest electric range and lower everyday cost at low battery levels, while the tri-motor four-wheel-drive version targets off-road use. The company says the same architecture and different configurations cover buyers who want an off-road look for urban driving and those who intend to travel farther off paved roads.
