Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition launches October 1 with new story arc and roguelike mode

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition hits PS5 on Oct. 1 with the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion, a new Most Wanted roguelike survival mode, and more.

The centerpiece of the new content is Echoes of Sekigahara, a narrative expansion spanning two time periods that delves into protagonist Atsu's past. It introduces a new explorable area, along with updated weapons, enemies, armor sets, dyes, and more. The Complete Edition also adds Most Wanted, a single-player combat survival mode described by the developer as "our spin on a roguelike." Players take on bounties, defeat enemies, and earn combat perks.

Players who already own Ghost of Yōtei can upgrade for $15. Even those who choose not to purchase the upgrade will still receive minor perks across all editions, including a new photo mode and an accompanying screensaver feature, plus a new high contrast accessibility option and other quality-of-life improvements. The Complete Edition costs $70, the same price the base title launched at last year.

Ghost of Yōtei is the follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, developed by Sony-owned Sucker Punch. According to Engadget, reviews for the third-person action game were extremely positive.
