GO Club app helped TechRadar writer boost steps, water intake after 40

A TechRadar reviewer says GO Club, a step and water tracker, helped him build healthier habits after turning 40.

GO Club is a health and fitness tracker centered on steps and hydration. It also provides reminders and rewards to encourage these small habits. The review says the app has been downloaded more than 150,000 times since its launch 18 months ago and was a finalist in the 2025 App Store Awards.

Paul said he had set a daily goal of 10,000 steps but was only taking 5,000 to 6,000 steps before using the app. The app's simple display of his step count, visible on a phone widget, gave him enough motivation to improve. It also shows distance, calories burned, and floors climbed, along with a progress chart.

Water intake is entered manually, as smartphones cannot track it. Users adjust a slider and tap Add, and the app subtracts that amount from a default daily goal of 2.5 liters. A bottle graphic provides a visual reminder of how much water remains.

For smartwatch users, GO Club offers a dedicated Apple Watch app. A paid tier called GO Plus adds widgets, focus mode themes, smart walking plans and more, costing $19.99 per year or $3.99 per month.

Paul wrote that he has grown to rely on the app and its widget, describing it as the epitome of simplicity and praising its design.
