GoldenEye Parker Jotter Pen Discounted for James Bond Day
TechRadar reports Amazon cut the GoldenEye Parker Jotter pen to $11 from $13 for James Bond Day; UK: £15 from £17.
TechRadar reported that the deal applies to the refillable Parker Jotter, the same model that Pierce Brosnan used in his 007 debut. The publication described the pen as an affordable, elegant writing solution and said it delivers a smooth writing experience, making it suitable for professionals and anyone who takes many notes.
The article, written by TechRadar Pro's B2B editor for creative and hardware, said the pen is not packed with Q Branch gadgets and will not explode after three clicks. The appeal, the report said, is that it looks like an in-universe piece of movie memorabilia rather than a logo-covered collectible. The writer said he keeps more than one of the pens on his desk and likes that it is refillable, allowing it to be restored to pristine condition after the ink runs dry. The report suggested pairing it with a Moleskine or Leuchtturm1917 notebook.
The discount is modest because the Parker Jotter is already an affordable pen, according to TechRadar. The report said $11 is about the average price for the model, that it has been a long time since the pen reached its lowest-ever price of $6, and that the current deal is about 50 cents more than it was during the July Prime Day sale. In the UK, the Jotter is down to £15 from £17.
TechRadar said the pen is aimed at Bond fans who want the same writing tool Bond would recommend when infiltrating a villain's lair, as well as anyone who takes many notes. It advised shoppers who prefer a model packed with explosives to skip it, saying such devices are only issued to officers with a Licence to Kill.
The publication also said it is tracking the best Prime Big Deal Days home office upgrades.
