Google brings Gemini voice conversations to Gmail, Docs, and Keep
Google has launched Gemini-powered voice features in Workspace, letting users speak to Gmail, Docs, and Keep to search and create content. The rollout begins for Google AI subscribers.
The rollout includes Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live. Gmail Live lets users ask questions such as what gate a flight departs from or what’s happening at a child’s school during the week, with the model reading and retrieving the necessary information from emails. Docs Live generates documents from natural language prompts; for example, a user can give Gemini a “brain dump” and the tool will organize the thoughts into a structured draft, drawing on data from other Workspace apps such as Drive, Gmail, and the internet. Keep Live similarly converts speech into organized notes rather than simply transcribing thoughts word for word.
According to TechRadar, Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers now get access to Gmail Live and Keep Live. Docs Live is available only to Pro and Ultra subscribers at launch. Business customers will receive the updates soon. Google says the capabilities will continue to be refined based on user feedback and real-world use cases.
