Google confirms YouTube iPad bug wiping out titles and comments; fix in the works

Google has acknowledged a YouTube iPad bug that erases titles, descriptions and comments when exiting fullscreen, and says a fix is being developed.

The issue was first widely reported over the weekend, with user complaints appearing on Reddit and Google's official support forums. Google acknowledged the problem and said engineering teams are actively investigating the flaw and working on a permanent software solution.

The bug appears to be linked to version 21.32.4 of the iPad app, released last week, although Google has not confirmed the trigger. Affected users see the entire area below the video player turn blank after leaving full screen. Starting a new video does not restore the missing interface, and the layout problem carries over from one video to the next within the same app session.

As a temporary measure, users can toggle between portrait and landscape orientation while in full screen to bring back the missing UI elements. Google did not specify when the permanent fix will be available.
