Google Details Googlebook Laptops as Meta, Microsoft and Others Unveil New Products
Google has revealed new details about its Googlebook laptops, promising 10 years of updates and first models from five PC makers, while Meta, Remedy, Peloton, Microsoft and Logitech also announced new products, according to The Verge.
Meta is launching Ray-Ban Meta Audio, a pair of smart glasses without cameras. The glasses still have microphones and speakers, so users can listen to music and talk with AI. The newsletter reported that battery life is longer, and there are new styles. Its author wrote that he liked the Clubmaster style.
Remedy's Control sequel, Control Resonant, moves out of the mind-bending Oldest House and into Manhattan and other strange new locations. The Verge writer said he has beaten the game and prefers the original's more contained setting, but loves much about where the story goes. He advised Remedy fans not to miss it.
Reviews for Konami's Silent Hill: Townfall, the next big horror game in the franchise, are set in a town in Scotland, according to the newsletter. The reviews make it sound like another worthy addition to the series, and the newsletter said it should be a good game to check out before Halloween.
Peloton has made a folding treadmill called the Tread Flex. The newsletter called folding a popular trend and said the idea seems smart, especially for Peloton users with smaller living spaces. It is Peloton's 'most affordable' treadmill, though it still costs $2,195.
Microsoft's second-generation Surface Mouse has haptic feedback, an action button and can be paired with three devices. It costs $79.99, and the newsletter said it seems like a solid option for people who just want a good mouse. Microsoft also refreshed the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop.
Logitech G's Yeti 2, the follow-up to the Blue Yeti, has an LED display and can track a user's voice with an audio proximity sensor. The newsletter's author said he had just picked up a cheap microphone on a Whoop sale, but might get a Yeti 2 if that one does not work out.
The newsletter also featured The Verge commerce writer Brad Bourque, who uses a Pixel 9 Pro XL. His homescreen includes two mobile games he likes, Idle Obelisk Miner and Nubby's Number Factory, and prominently features calendar and weather widgets because he said he is bad at remembering his schedule and Portland is known for surprise rainstorms.
