Google Expands Pixel Connected Camera Support to 11 More Apps
Google is rolling out Pixel Connected Camera support to 11 more communication and work apps, bringing the total number of officially supported apps to 16, according to Android Authority.
The newly supported apps include Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Slack, according to Android Authority. The feature lets a Pixel phone capture or stream video in supported applications while using external cameras. Those external cameras can be another linked Pixel device or a GoPro, according to the report.
Connected Camera keeps the host app’s native effects and filters available while using the external camera feed. Android Authority described the setup as a mini TV studio, with users able to move from one camera to another without interrupting a stream.
Before the update, five apps officially supported the feature. The latest rollout increases that number to 16, extending a Pixel video capability that Android Authority said has been underrated. The expansion is aimed at users who want high-quality, multi-camera video feeds from a Pixel phone.
Android Authority cited Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Slack among the additions. The report said the support is arriving as part of the Pixel Camera Services update on the Play Store.
