Google Home bug blocks adding items to Keep lists
According to reports, some Google Home users cannot add items to Google Keep lists via voice commands due to a widespread bug.
In a series of complaints on Reddit, including one from Friday, a user claims that the assistant recognizes their commands perfectly but will not add any items. For instance, if the person asks a Google Home device to “add x to list xyz,” the assistant might respond by saying how many items are on that list, without actually making the addition.
The report further notes that a quick look at Google Home settings suggests access to notes and lists using a voice assistant may have been removed. This could indicate a possible reason for the failure, but there has been no official statement from Google.
This is not the first such problem recently. The article mentions that only today, users received some good news following reports of devices refusing to set alarms over voice commands. Now another function appears to be impacted by a similar glitch. The frequency of these issues has led Android Authority to note that it feels like a Google Home bug or fix is being reported almost every other day.
The report does not mention any workaround or official response from Google regarding this bug.
