Google lets you tell Discover exactly what you want to see in your feed
Google is rolling out a new Discover feed control that lets users describe topics and links they want to see or skip, with immediate adjustments in the Google app.
The Discover page is entirely algorithm-based, built from visited pages, search terms, and cross-ecosystem activity such as YouTube viewing. Until now, users could only mark a story as “not interested,” choose to see less of similar content, heart an article, or block a publisher entirely. ZDNet says that often felt too limited to bother with.
The new option appears through the three-dot menu on any item in the feed. Users can type a chat-like description of the exact topics or links they want to see or skip. Google gives examples such as “Show me long-form content and deep dives about smart home tech, but skip the product news and press releases,” “Give me Pixel phone setup tips and hidden features, but only for the Pixel 11 Pro XL,” and “Give me cookie baking recipes and tips, but skip anything that’s gluten-free or sugar-free.”
According to ZDNet, Google says the feed will adjust immediately and remember the user’s requests. The feature is arriving “in the coming days” on the Google app.
