Google Pixel 11 Pro XL: incremental upgrade with battery stamina, says TechRadar

TechRadar says Pixel 11 Pro XL is a polished but pricey incremental update with great battery life.

According to the review, the Pixel 11 Pro XL's design is nearly identical to the Pixel 10 Pro XL, with the main change being an all-glass camera bump and an LED light replacing the temperature sensor. New color options, including a matte Obsidian finish, were well received. The phone runs on Google's Tensor G6 processor and sports a 6.8-inch display with 3,600 nits peak brightness.

The base storage has been doubled to 256GB, but the price stays at $1,299 / £1,279 / AU$2,099. TechRadar notes that this is effectively a $100 / £80 / AU$150 price increase because last year's entry model had 128GB storage. Additionally, the base RAM has been cut from 16GB to 12GB, with Google saying optimizations compensate for the smaller memory. Higher storage variants (512GB and 1TB) come with 16GB RAM.

On cameras, TechRadar says the new Magic Capture mode is “too cool” and likely to be useful for parents, but the 120x Pro Zoom is more of a “parlor trick” than practical. The XL model is nearly identical to the smaller Pixel 11 Pro, except for a larger battery, display and footprint. The phone is priced to match Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra, and the review says it might tempt users switching from iPhone or Samsung, while owners of recent Pixel phones could safely skip this cycle. TechRadar gave the Pixel 11 Pro XL a value score of 3 out of 5.

The announcement took place in mid-August 2026, alongside revamped Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro Fold models. The phone is available in Canyon, Olive, Fog and Obsidian, with no 128GB option; storage choices now start at 256GB.
