Google Pixel Screenshots app adds overdue filters for organizing screenshots
Pixel Screenshots update adds date-range and source filters, letting users sort by app and combine criteria. Rolling out via Play Store.
The update is available through the Play Store. Previously, the app offered only chip-style filters for content categories such as products, places, and promo codes, offering limited ways to organize a screenshot library.
Android Authority reported that the new tools address long-standing complaints about the app’s lack of basic organizational features. The update follows Google’s recent switch of some Pixel Screenshots processing from on-device AI to cloud-based AI, a move that drew criticism from users. The publication said Google is attempting to win back those users by adding features that should have been present from the app’s launch.
The new filters are rolling out gradually via the Play Store.
