Google prepares new Gemini settings interface, early preview shows sub-screens and Tasks on Android

The report says Google has already been preparing to move many options that currently appear in the app's account switcher into Gemini Settings. The latest preview suggests Gemini Settings itself could be preparing a new look that more directly resembles the current account switcher options. Android Authority previously found that Google was preparing to split Gemini Settings into new groupings, organizing entries into categories for Preferences, Data & privacy, and Get support. Those categories return in the new interface seen in the current preview.

Some existing Gemini Settings options could move to new sub-screens. According to Android Authority, both Voice options and Device controls would be accessible through these new pages. The report says the reorganization makes sense because Gemini Settings have been spread out, and unless a user already knows where a particular selection lives, finding it when needed may not be entirely intuitive.

The preview also shows a new addition called Tasks on Android. Android Authority says this option is not being relocated from elsewhere in Settings. Based on the description attached to it, the feature sounds possibly related to Gemini Spark or, perhaps more likely, Gemini Intelligence. The report says it cannot yet confirm what the feature does and that more may be known once Google finishes work on the new settings UI.

Android Authority said it will continue looking for further changes in future Google app updates. Google has not announced the new Gemini settings interface, and the final design could differ from the early preview.
