Google Releases October Pixel Update, Likely Final Monthly Update for Pixel 6
Google's October 2026 Pixel update is rolling out, likely the final monthly update for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Google is distributing different builds depending on the device. Pixel 6 and Pixel 7-series devices, along with the first Pixel Fold and the Pixel Tablet, receive build CP3A.261005.002.A1. The Pixel 11 series receives build CD1A.261005.003. Pixel 8, Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 models receive build CP3A.261005.005.
The release notes list three main fixes. For Pixel 8 through Pixel 10 models, Google says it fixed an issue that occasionally caused audio noise or distortion in ringtones during certain VoIP calls. For Pixel 8 through Pixel 11 models, it fixed an issue that occasionally prevented the virtual keyboard from appearing when interacting with search input fields. For the Pixel 11 family, it fixed a sensor glitch that occasionally caused captured photos or recorded videos to save in the incorrect orientation.
The notes do not include any changes directly targeting Pixel 6 or Pixel 7 models. Google says the rollout will proceed in phases over the coming week, so users may wait several days before seeing the update. For Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users, the November update will arrive after the five-year support cutoff unless Google announces a last-minute change.
