Google's latest Play Services update reveals deeper Android-Googlebook ties
Google Play Services v26.32 adds Googlebook-related setup features, expands Tap to Share, and brings Wear OS location sharing, according to Android Authority.
The update adds Googlebook-related multi-device setup features, allowing Android devices to prepare for closer integration with the anticipated hardware. Tap to Share is expanded to support sharing contacts, photos, links, locations, and more with nearby devices. In addition, the update brings location sharing to Wear OS, adds age credentials to Google Wallet, and includes other improvements.
These changes arrive as part of Google’s August 2026 Play system update rollout, which follows a recent round that delivered features for smartwatch users and power users. Android Authority noted that the latest notes come after leaks of a Googlebook desktop camera app UI and speculation about upcoming hardware, offering a look at how Google is tying Android into its broader hardware ecosystem.
