Google's Scam Detection feature reportedly expanding to Xiaomi phones

According to the report, an examination of Google Phone app public beta v237.0.973536915 found evidence that Xiaomi has been added to the list of phone makers supporting the feature. The feature was first available on Pixel phones and has gradually expanded to other Android brands. It is already available on Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series.

Android Authority said it has also spotted signs that Scam Detection could reach vivo devices before Xiaomi arrives. The report did not specify which Xiaomi phones would support the feature initially. The Xiaomi 18 Fold, which recently debuted at IFA 2026, would be an ideal first candidate, but because that phone is currently confirmed only for China, a globally available Xiaomi flagship is more likely to receive Scam Detection first.

Scam Detection is designed to analyze phone calls using on-device AI and warn users if it detects suspicious or fraudulent activity. The report says the feature remains in beta and is not perfect, but it could prove helpful once Google addresses remaining issues. No official rollout timeline or device list has been announced.
