Google Search AI Mode Drops 'Export to Docs' Shortcut, Gemini Keeps It

Android Authority reports Google Search AI Mode dropped Export to Docs; Gemini and NotebookLM still offer it.

In AI Mode, the menu now shows only one option, “About this response,” Android Authority reported. The outlet also said that reverting to an older version of the Google app did not restore the shortcut.

The missing option drew complaints from users on Reddit, according to the report. Before the removal, users could gather explanations and other information from AI Mode and save it to Google Docs for later editing with a few taps.

Gemini and NotebookLM still offer options to export material to Google Docs, Android Authority reported. Google has not explained whether the AI Mode shortcut will return, and the report did not include a company statement on the reason for the change.
