Google tests new Search Live animation and UI tweaks

The current Search Live experience shows a gradient animation at the bottom of the screen in different colors. The new animation still uses a gradient with various colors, but the colors are rendered as tiny, blurry blobs, which Android Authority says looks even better.

Google is also tweaking the Search Live user interface. Currently, the microphone icon sits on the left, followed by the camera icon in the center and the transcript icon on the right, with a label beneath each icon. The new UI removes the labels under all three buttons and swaps the mic and video buttons, putting the microphone center stage. When the user is talking, a waveform animation appears beside the mic.

The visual tweaks appear ready for prime time, but Android Authority notes there is no telling when or if Google will actually roll them out.
