GPT-6 Astra 3D Craze Exhausts User Credits, Triggering Full Quota Reset

Users of OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra have burned through their compute allowances producing 3D content, prompting a full quota reset for paid subscribers. The reset was announced by Tibo, a figure known for issuing such resets, according to Quantum Bit.

The report says the reset followed 3D generation's rise as the hottest use of GPT-6 Astra since its launch. It cites social media posts showing Astra modeling in Blender, building games, generating textures and assembling 3D webpages, with many results described by the report as striking.

The report groups the use cases into four categories. In the first, image-based modeling, Astra rebuilds objects in Blender from photos or blueprints. One user supplied a vintage steam locomotive blueprint, and Astra returned a model consisting of 3,295 separate objects within minutes. The wheels, boiler, chimney and cab could still be edited and refined as requested. Astra did this not by imitating mouse movements in Blender but by writing Python scripts to create geometry and then revising based on rendering output.

According to the report, a South Korean user asked whether Astra could turn a real city into a 3D world. After 43 minutes, a mini Seoul was deployed in the browser, covering all 25 districts and surrounding areas with roughly 267,000 simplified building models. Users can rotate, zoom, drag, fly over 14 landmarks and switch between day, dusk and night modes on mobile or desktop. The scene uses Three.js, and Astra handled data processing, generation, interaction and deployment. The creator said he did not design a workflow in advance. Astra pulled open map data, estimated building heights where needed, and scaled terrain and heights by four times for clarity. The creator described the result as a stylized miniature rather than a survey-grade digital twin.

The third category involves game production. One user, the report says, made a cyberpunk-wasteland 3D game demo that Astra generated in one pass over 45 minutes. The session consumed only a few percentage points of the weekly quota on the Pro 20× plan. The creator first had Astra call an image generation tool to define the art style, then compared concept images with game screenshots until the visuals matched while maintaining 60 frames per second. After running through the night, Astra added a complete gameplay loop, weather effects, Blender models and procedurally generated robot birds, costing 50 percent of the weekly allocation.

The report also describes interactive visualization. A user displayed a 3D human cell model assembled by Astra in 30 minutes, with the nucleus and mitochondria in a rotatable scene. Medical researcher Derya Unutmaz, quoted in the report, said the demo was stunning and led him to think superintelligence may arrive within a year rather than his earlier estimate of two years. He also speculated about human digital twins being used to treat disease.

The report notes that Astra's standout ability is to move between Blender, Three.js and Unreal Engine by itself, chaining together workflows. It also suggests that open, programmable software such as Blender may gain traction in the agent era because its interfaces and scripting support make it easier for AI to call.

The report adds that Tibo has become a recurring figure in the GPT-6 Astra reset ecosystem. Before Astra was open to all paying customers, he promised a reset card for every day of delayed access. After Astra reached full rollout, he sent complete reset cards to Plus, Pro and Business users. Websites have now appeared to track his reset history, estimate the next one and build wait-time statistics, cementing the pattern inside the community. One commenter joked that a reset a day keeps Claude away.
