GTA 6 Reportedly Coming to PC in Early 2027
GamesBeat reports Grand Theft Auto 6 will hit PC in early 2027, months after its November 19 console launch and far sooner than GTA 5's PC release.
The reported PC window is much shorter than the gap for Grand Theft Auto 5. That game debuted on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013, and did not arrive on PC until April 2015.
Most other developers and publishers have given GTA 6 a wide berth this fall, since it is all but guaranteed to be a massive hit that will capture many players' attention. Games that were supposed to arrive early next year could also be delayed to avoid competing with the PC port. The release slate for the first quarter of 2027 currently includes Stranger Than Heaven, Metroid Ravenous, Until Dawn 2, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, God of War Laufey and Fable.
It is not clear when Rockstar will add the inevitable online mode to GTA 6, about which the company has been tight-lipped. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy has claimed that will happen next year. The hugely popular GTA 5 roleplaying mods are PC-only. Rockstar recently added a GTA 5 roleplaying option to its PC launcher, three years after it acquired the team behind roleplaying server company FiveM. The company may be waiting until it releases the PC version of GTA 6 before it switches on multiplayer.
