Hailiang Tech's Smart Education Project Wins Zhejiang First Prize, Advances to National Data Element Competition
Hailiang Tech's e-career project won the first prize in the HR and education track at the 2026 "Data Elements ×" Zhejiang competition, becoming the only smart education project to advance to the national finals.
The "Data Elements ×" competition is organized under the guidance of the National Data Administration, with the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and more than 20 central ministries and commissions co-hosting the event. It is recognized as the highest-level national official competition in the digital economy, representing the top tier of data element applications in China. The competition focuses on industrial implementation, evaluating data governance capabilities, data circulation models, and technological innovation value rather than merely algorithm performance. Participating projects are required to address industry pain points, demonstrate quantifiable results, and establish replicable and scalable industrial paradigms.
This year's Zhejiang regional competition covered 20 sub-tracks, attracting major industry players such as Ant Technology, SenseTime, MYbank, Hikvision, Geely Automobile, Loong Air, Alibaba DAMO Academy, and iFlytek. The top awards in each track were claimed by leading enterprises: Ant Technology's "Sleep AI Digital Doctor" won first prize in the healthcare track; MYbank's "Data Elements for Agriculture, Digital Finance for Farmers" won first prize in the financial services track; Hailiang Tech's "Smart Career Growth Blueprint" won first prize in the human resources and education track; Zhejiang Big Data Exchange and Unicom Digital Intelligence won first prize in the commerce and trade track; Loong Air and Zhejiang University won first prize in the transportation track; Hangzhou City Investment and China Mobile won first prize in the urban governance track. Hikvision and the Zhejiang Emergency Management Digital Center won second prize in the emergency management track; Geely Automobile won second prize in the industrial manufacturing track; Alibaba DAMO Academy and China Telecom won second prize in the healthcare track; iFlytek's "Xinghuo-based Regional Teaching-Evaluation Integration" won third prize in the human resources and education track; and SenseTime and CNCIC won third prize in the urban governance track.
Hailiang Tech's victory in the newly added human resources and education track validates both the technical strength and practical value of its project, highlighting the company's leading position in the education data element field. The award-winning project addresses the long-standing "impossible triangle" in basic education of balancing large-scale implementation, high-quality schooling, and personalized development, offering a systematic solution driven by data and technology. Built on the 30-plus years of educational experience of Hailiang Group, a Fortune 500 company, the project uses the independently developed smart career platform e-career to construct a full-chain career education solution covering "identification, cultivation, and transition."
At the data foundation layer, the project integrates multi-source heterogeneous data including academic performance, interest traits, growth trajectories, and educational resources. Through standardized governance and deep fusion, it forms a six-dimensional high-dimensional data system of "academics, behavior, traits, potential, needs, and resources," generating a 360-degree panoramic career digital profile for each student.
At the intelligent application layer, the project combines a career planning large model with a structured knowledge graph, overcoming the limitations of shallow text matching in traditional large models. It provides precise services such as subject potential assessment, personalized path recommendation, and further education plan customization. It also offers visual data dashboards and attribution analysis reports to support regional governments and schools in scientific teaching management decisions.
To date, the solution has been deployed in more than 60 schools across 14 provinces, serving over 100,000 students. Practice has shown that the model helps schools crack the challenge of individualized teaching under large-scale schooling, creating a positive cycle of "diversified cultivation, ideal exit, and quality student sources." It also covers 72 growth paths including the national college entrance examination, arts and sports admissions, minor language tracks, and Hong Kong and Macau further education, matching students with different aptitudes to suitable development directions.
The project has also achieved a complete path from technological implementation to commercial closed loop. The core features have a deep usage rate of 60%, far exceeding the industry average. The commercial results demonstrate the high-value transformation potential of education data elements, providing a reusable and scalable practice sample for the "data elements × smart education" industry.
Hailiang Tech will take the project to the national finals in September, competing with top data element projects from across the country. The company said it will continue to deepen the integration of data elements and education scenarios, using technology to promote educational equity and quality, and contribute more Hailiang solutions to the high-quality development of smart education.
