Halide Releases First iPhone Duo Update With Pose-Specific Camera Controls
Halide's first iPhone Duo update adds pose-specific camera controls and a waist-level viewfinder for Mark III users.
The release addresses one of the open questions around Apple’s foldable: how quickly third-party apps would adapt to its dual screens and new aspect ratios. Engadget reported that Apple’s own apps may be ready for the hardware immediately, while support from outside developers had been less certain. Halide’s update follows that adoption path with interface choices intended for the iPhone Duo’s different positions.
In the fully open and partly open poses, users can move where the camera controls appear. When the device is partly open, the arrangement lets the iPhone Duo function like a waist-level viewfinder camera. Lux Optics said more Duo-focused features are in the works.
Engadget also reported that Halide was once an acquisition target for Apple, making the developer’s approach to the iPhone Duo an example of how third-party app makers are adapting to the foldable’s design.
