Hamilton CEO Ties Modern Warfare 4 Watch to Brand's Entertainment Heritage

Hamilton CEO Francesca Ginocchio says the watchmaker is extending its entertainment heritage into gaming with a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 special edition tied to Captain Price's Khaki Field watch.

The collaboration is Hamilton's latest gaming effort after years of movie work. Ginocchio said Hamilton's roots combine American spirit with Swiss movement and a link to cinema and entertainment dating to 1957 with Elvis Presley. Presley owned and frequently wore a Hamilton Ventura, which appeared on his wrist in the 1961 musical film Blue Hawaii; its asymmetrical design remains known as the Elvis watch. Hamilton has continued working with Hollywood directors including Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve on custom pieces for Tenet and Dune: Part Two, and Ginocchio said the brand has been in more than 300 movies. "Gaming is really a new part of the DNA of a brand linked to entertainment and movies. It's the next step," she said.

Hamilton began game collaborations in 2021, when Far Cry 6 players could spot a custom titanium field watch on protagonist Dani Rojas's wrist. Hamilton made 1,983 identical real-world pieces for fans. The design had a vintage brown leather strap, military-style titanium case and beige numbering, with a subtle vertical line dividing the dial's number six in a reference to the game's logo. Ginocchio said the restraint was intentional, so the product felt authentic to the fictional universe. "We have this credibility in the entertainment world, and we apply how we work with movies to the gaming industry," she said. "Basically, we try to do the best watch for the character in the movie or in the game."

For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Captain Price wears a Hamilton Khaki Field watch throughout the story campaign, and a matching model will release alongside the game. Ginocchio said the pairing came naturally because the Khaki collection is a central part of Hamilton's business and identity. The Khaki was born in the United States and used in World War One and World War Two, she said, and is so recognizable that "if you have a Khaki on your wrist, everybody can tell you're wearing a Hamilton." She called Call of Duty "the perfect combination to put all that storytelling and this part of the collection in a game."

The Hamilton x Modern Warfare 4 special edition has a 38mm black PVD-coated stainless steel case, a rugged material in an unassuming color. It includes a highlighter yellow arrow on the second hand and a small triangle at 12 o'clock, a dominant color in the game's marketing. Dark green numbers sit on the black dial. A Korean character, 사, replaces the usual Arabic number, reflecting the game's Korea setting and mirroring its branding. The watch is paired with a durable green cloth strap, according to TechRadar.

The release arrives as video game and lifestyle collaborations have moved upmarket. TechRadar noted that gaming has become a major cultural force, with higher-end brands entering the space. Streetwear brand ARK/8 launched an Elden Ring-inspired capsule at the game's peak popularity, including a coat priced at $1,700. Hamilton's approach is less expensive than that example but still positions a traditional watchmaker inside a major game franchise.
