Hasee X5 with Intel Core i9-12900H drops to $559.99 on Newegg

TechRadar: Hasee X5 with Intel Core i9-12900H is $559.99 on Newegg until Oct. 18, offering high-end CPU performance.

TechRadar reported that the i9-12900H is a 14-core, 20-thread CPU typically reserved for high-end workstations and premium creator laptops. At $559.99, the offer stands out because component prices have risen after what the article called 'RAMgeddon.' In most cases, $429 buys an entry-level Core i3 or a low-power Ryzen chip, TechRadar said.

The Hasee X5 includes 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. It also has an extra M.2 slot for later storage expansion. The 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display is anti-glare. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, HDMI, and a microSD card slot. The laptop has a backlit keyboard, a 2.0MP webcam with a privacy shutter, and a 62.7Wh battery. It weighs 3.86 pounds and comes in a slim silver metal chassis.

TechRadar compared the Hasee X5 with Apple's MacBook Neo, which it said runs the A18 Pro. According to the article, the Hasee model is more than twice as powerful and has twice the memory and twice the storage capacity. The comparison is TechRadar's, and the article did not provide independent benchmark details.

The article identified two main limitations. Graphics come from Intel integrated graphics, so the Hasee X5 is not a gaming laptop; modern AAA games are off the table, though light titles and older games will run. The RAM is also likely soldered, meaning 16GB is the maximum. TechRadar said that is adequate for most users today but should be considered before purchase.

The laptop is sold by 'Shinelon Official' through Newegg Marketplace rather than by Newegg itself, according to TechRadar. That arrangement, the article said, could make returns or warranty claims slightly more complicated. The machine comes with a 30-day return window and a 12-month warranty. TechRadar said the warranty helps offset the lesser-known Hasee brand.

TechRadar also noted that Hasee is not a household name like Dell or Lenovo, though it said build quality feels premium for the price. For coding, data analysis, content creation, large spreadsheets, or heavy multitasking, the article said, the machine 'punches far above its asking price.' The deal ends on October 18.
