Home Widget 1.10 Adds Camera Mosaic for Viewing All HomeKit Cameras at Once

Home Widget 1.10 adds a camera mosaic for viewing all HomeKit cameras from one widget and thermostat, room light controls.

The app is designed to give HomeKit users a faster control surface than Apple's Home app. 9to5Mac said the Home app is useful for configuring a smart home but can be slow to control because its tab structure and room hierarchy add steps to frequent actions. Home Widget lets users build custom panels on the Home Screen, Lock Screen and other locations. Each panel contains tiles that users configure with their own icon, name, color and size. The tiles reflect an accessory's current state, with lights appearing bright when on and dim when off. Sensors show readings and thermostats show current temperature without opening the app. Panels sync across devices through iCloud. The app works with accessories already set up in Apple's Home app and does not replace that app.

The camera mosaic is the main feature in version 1.10. One tap on a Home Screen or Lock Screen widget opens every HomeKit camera in a single scrollable view. Tapping a camera tile makes that camera fill the screen. Users can also add a Control Center control that opens the mosaic or a specific camera directly. 9to5Mac said none of these actions requires launching the Home app.

Version 1.10 also adds thermostat control and whole-room light actions. Users can set their home temperature from a widget instead of opening the Home app or asking Siri. For lighting, they can toggle, dim or change the color of an entire room from a single tile rather than building a scene just to dim every light in that room. 9to5Mac described both features as closing real gaps between what a widget could do and what the native app could do.

The update brings native iOS 26/27 widget appearances, including Clear, Tinted, Light, Dark and Liquid Glass rendering. 9to5Mac said panels adopt the wallpaper rather than sitting on top of it. Multi-sensor Matter accessories now show all their readings, and the app has richer Apple Watch integration.

With version 1.10.2, thermostat support extends to heating systems exposed as HeaterCooler, which 9to5Mac said covers a broader range of hardware. Search now works when adding accessories, sensors, scenes or other actions.

Home Widget is a free download. The free version provides up to three panels of up to seven tiles, custom icons and names, and ten widget actions a day. A premium unlock costs $14.99 as a one-time fee and removes those limits while opening the full set of settings. Monthly and yearly subscriptions are available as alternatives at $0.99 and $6.99, respectively. The app can be downloaded from the App Store for free.

9to5Mac said the app is worth trying for users with many Apple Home accessories who still do most daily interactions in the Home app. The site added that multiple cameras alone make the mosaic a good reason to install it.
