Honor MagicOS 11 Adds YOYO Agent Capable of 100-Step Tasks

Honor launched MagicOS 11 with a rebuilt YOYO assistant that can execute 100-plus-step tasks, automate repeated routines, and manage codes, schedules and calls, QbitAI reported. Magic9 will debut with it on Sept. 28.

At the launch, YOYO's intent understanding reached 91.8%, and its tool access expanded to 700 from 400. Its long-chain task execution grew from 14 steps last year to more than 100. QbitAI described a scenario in which a user asks YOYO to check when concert tickets go on sale, set an alarm five minutes before sales begin, and compile the artist's 10 most popular songs into a memo. After the user continues browsing, the memo, alarm and venue address are already arranged.

Beyond single commands, MagicOS 11 introduces YOYO Tasks, which the company describes as say once, done every time. A user sets a task, YOYO breaks it down and arranges it, and the task runs automatically when trigger conditions are met. Triggers can include time, location, app status, messages, network, battery, device status and external information. Multiple conditions can be combined, such as checking the weather at 8:30 on each workday and turning on air-conditioning heat if the user is at home and the outdoor temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius.

YOYO Suggestions, introduced with MagicOS 6, now covers more than 1,000 service scenarios. MagicOS 11 emphasizes YOYO Code Universe, which addresses everyday code-based situations such as meal pickup codes, parcel pickup codes, transit codes, payment codes and medical insurance codes. For online shoppers, YOYO can push parcel pickup codes, identify delivery information and classify goods. It may mark fresh products as needing same-day pickup, valuables as not to be delayed and bulky items as requiring help. Another feature, YOYO Calendar, lets users swipe down with three fingers or press the AI key to recognize ticket information on screen and save it to the calendar. YOYO can also record arrangements mentioned in chats, appointments in text messages and other schedules visible on screen.

The AI call assistant can dial numbers and wait in queues for users, then notify them when a human agent connects. During calls, YOYO can extract key information in real time. If the other party mentions a meeting at 4 p.m. tomorrow, a calendar card appears; if a phone number is given, it can be added with one tap. In a test described by QbitAI, a colleague played the role of an administrative staff member arranging a business trip. After the schedule was settled, YOYO recorded it and saved the contact number of a media coordinator.

Outside AI features, MagicOS 11 adds tap-to-share across brands. Phones from different brands and the three major mobile operating systems can tap with an Honor phone to transfer files. The system also supports tablets, computers, car systems and cameras, with more than 60 ecosystem partners and over 50 million devices. Visually, MagicOS 11 applies a global liquid glass design across more than 1,300 pages, while a light-flow architecture keeps power consumption nearly unchanged.

To put these capabilities into the phone, Honor rebuilt YOYO's underlying architecture and created YOYO Harness, a system-level agent framework. The framework connects the model with the phone's perception, planning, tool invocation and execution. Location, time and app status sensed by the phone are fed to the model for task planning; the model then calls tools to execute. Feedback generated during execution flows back to the model for further judgment, giving Harness a self-evolution capability. Honor builds this engineering system into the operating system, arguing that the phone is the device most closely tied to daily life and can understand needs with authorized context, while the OS sits at the center of coordinating users, hardware, apps and services.

Honor contrasts two industry routes. Model vendors put large models into phones, with dialogue and GUI operation as core selling points. Terminal vendors start from the OS layer and build AI into every layer. Honor says its advantages include perception accumulated from long-term user experience, hardware sensing, context fences and third-party app service status; more thorough system-level service transformation; and proactive service scenarios. MagicOS 11 has opened 700 tools and 500 Skills, which YOYO Harness can combine as needed. In ecosystem strategy, Honor has opened MCP, A2A, Skills and GUI interfaces and connected more than 10,000 third-party AI services. With WeChat linked through A2A, a user can tell YOYO to call the boss, and YOYO will find the contact through WeChat, open the chat interface, confirm and dial. When standardized interfaces are unavailable, GUI screen recognition and simulated clicks serve as a fallback.

Honor also pointed to its AgenticOS roadmap, released at July's WAIC, which redesigns core operating system mechanisms. The system's scheduling object shifts from processes to user intent, kernel-managed resources shift from threads to models and computing power, and the permission subject shifts from apps to agents. Honor frames this as the difference between an AI-native operating system and an operating system with AI installed.

Honor released its first Magic phone in 2016, and its AI phone line is now in its tenth year. Honor MagicOS President Sun Jianfa said early AI features did not fully close the loop because of technical limits, and the user value of on-device AI was not fully demonstrated, leading to internal and external doubts. Honor nevertheless kept AI as a main strategy. Sun said the hardware-side AI dividend has already been realized once, but faster chips ultimately have to land on devices in users' hands.
