Speaking at a ceremony at Horizon's Lingang campus in Shanghai marking the 15 million chip milestone, founder and CEO Yu Kai said the chip would go to the FAW-Volkswagen model, and that HSD V2.1 builds on the V2.0 release with what the company describes as an acceleration in performance. Wang Shengli, deputy general manager for commerce at FAW-Volkswagen and general manager of FAW-Volkswagen Sales Co., attended and announced that Yu would be owner No. 001 of the ID. ID. AURA T6 is FAW-Volkswagen's first strategic model for its Smart Electric 2.0 era. It debuts Horizon's Journey 6H chip, supported by the company's HSD AI foundation model, with the aim of delivering higher-level assisted driving. Horizon traces its start to 2015, when it was founded as a company focused on deep neural network computing. The Journey 6 series entered mass production in 2025, and cumulative Journey shipments passed 15 million in 2026, an 11-year span during which the company moved from China's first automotive-grade assisted-driving chip to the largest share of the domestic market, according to the account. It said one in every three smart-driving cars in China carries a Horizon chip. Yu said more than 8 million vehicles equipped with Journey chips drive on roads daily, with over 100 billion kilometers of real-world driving logged, and that scale is the strongest endorsement for safety and reliability.

Citing data from Gaogong Intelligent Auto Research Institute, the account said Horizon's share of the self-branded ADAS chip market exceeded 50% for the first time in the first half of 2026, roughly twice that of the second-place supplier, keeping it in first place. In chips for urban NOA on self-branded vehicles, Horizon held 22.8%, up 5 percentage points from a year earlier, ranking second. The company expects its direct share plus extended share to reach first place in the high-level assisted-driving chip market within a year.

Beyond automakers, Horizon works with global Tier 1 suppliers including Bosch, Astemo, Denso and Aumovio, and holds overseas orders in hand of more than 20 million units. Ecosystem partner HCT used the Journey 6M chip to bring urban NOA to fuel SUVs priced around 100,000 yuan, its CEO Li Biao said at the ceremony.

Horizon released HSD V2.0 in June with capabilities described as point-to-point driving and full-dimensional collision avoidance, based on a one-stage end-to-end system. HSD V2.1 will add full-scenario reversing, with end-to-end model trajectory output intended to make situations such as escaping tight spots and narrow-road passage smoother. Yu also said at the event that HSD will be mass-produced on a leading new energy vehicle maker's model within the year.
