HP Envy 6165 All-in-One Printer Falls to $79.99 at Best Buy, Half Its List Price

According to TechRadar, the Envy 6165 handles color print, scan and copy work, and includes automatic two-sided printing, a 100-sheet input tray, a 2.4-inch touchscreen, dual-band wireless and wired connectivity, and HP's AI-assisted printing, which trims unwanted content from web pages and emails before they are printed. The package also ships with a six-month trial of HP Instant Ink.

TechRadar said the feature set is unusual at this price, noting that a touchscreen and AI-assisted printing are typically found on models costing more, and that the $80 reduction from $159.99 puts the printer below a threshold usually reserved for far more basic machines. The publication positioned the device for families, students and remote workers who need a capable inkjet rather than a high-volume office machine.

Print speed is the main trade-off. TechRadar listed output at 10 pages per minute in black and 7 pages per minute in color, and advised buyers who print heavily each month to look at a higher-end ink tank or laser printer instead. The review also flagged two ongoing considerations: the Instant Ink trial bills automatically once the six months end unless the subscription is cancelled, and HP's dynamic security limits which third-party cartridges will work, so buyers should check ink compatibility before assuming off-brand supplies will fit.

TechRadar's buying guidance was conditional on usage. It recommended the Envy 6165 for buyers who need a basic, reliable home-office printer without spending much, who print occasionally rather than in volume, or who want to test Instant Ink at no cost before deciding whether to keep it. It advised against the purchase for anyone printing in high volume, needing speeds above 10 pages per minute in black, unwilling to track a trial that converts to automatic billing, or specifically requiring a laser printer for crisp text at scale.

The deal report cited the Envy 6165's low entry price as its central appeal, with automatic two-sided printing and the 100-sheet tray reducing the manual reloading and paper handling that slower, cheaper inkjets often require.
