HP Smart Tank 5003 All-in-One With 3 Years of Free Ink Drops to $170 at Amazon

TechRadar describes the Smart Tank 5003 as HP’s “best-for-home” ink tank printer. It uses refillable high-capacity ink tanks instead of cartridges, a design intended to lower long-term cost per page compared with cartridge printers. It also prints, scans, and copies, and includes wireless connectivity and AI-capable features that help format and clean up documents printed from the web.

The bundled multi-year ink supply removes one of the largest early costs of switching to a tank printer, TechRadar said. The outlet has not tested this exact model, but it said the printer shares its core tank design with other Smart Tank printers it has found reliable for everyday home use.

TechRadar says the printer is best suited to families, students, or remote workers who print often and want to cut long-term ink costs. It recommends buying if users print enough that cartridges have become expensive and they want scan and copy in an affordable all-in-one. It advises skipping the model if users print only occasionally, do not consider cartridge costs a real pain point, or need faster print speeds for high-volume office use.

At $169.99, the printer is $20 off the $189.99 list price. TechRadar said it is a solid time to buy for a household, home office, or dorm room if a tank printer was already under consideration.
