Huawei Cloud CodeArts Launches HarmonyOS Coding LLM, Agent and Practice Center

Hu Yuhai, president of Huawei Public Cloud, said the CodeArts code agent distills Huawei's years of R&D experience, better understands R&D engineering practices and gives developers a new development experience. "For the HarmonyOS ecosystem, Huawei Cloud has launched new models, new tools and new practices to provide HarmonyOS developers with a one-stop process from idea to listing, and is committed to becoming an AI coding agent that better understands HarmonyOS development," Hu said.

The HarmonyOS Coding LLM relies on Huawei Cloud's HarmonyOS enhanced training system. It integrates more than one million pieces of HarmonyOS original material and learns from high-quality HarmonyOS project codebases and component assets, including open-source samples, HarmonyOS APIs, development specifications and UI/UX layout templates, Huawei Cloud said. The model is adapted to the ArkTS language and HarmonyOS development paradigms. Its training data includes more than 100,000 high-quality HarmonyOS data items, with 100% coverage of components for high-frequency HarmonyOS development scenarios, including HarmonyOS APIs, development specifications, codebases and component assets. Huawei Cloud said the model reduces the error rate per thousand lines of code by more than 80%, raises the first-time compilation pass rate by more than 78% and cuts token consumption per task by more than 20%. The HarmonyOS Coding LLM is now available on Huawei Cloud CodeArts and the Huawei Cloud MaaS Model Marketplace for enterprise users.

The CodeArts HarmonyOS Agent covers the full process from requirements sorting and solution design to code writing and compilation and build, reducing repeated developer intervention and supporting end-to-end HarmonyOS application development. It has a built-in DevEco CLI that can directly call a HarmonyOS on-device emulator, a capability Huawei Cloud called an industry first, so development results can be seen and adjusted immediately. The agent also allows HarmonyOS applications to adapt naturally to the screen sizes of phones, tablets and other terminal devices and to freely choose HarmonyOS on-device forms. It includes a HarmonyOS knowledge base, third-party library conversion and mini-program-to-atomic-service skills, with documents, APIs and best practices updated in real time.

The HarmonyOS Developer Practice Center gathers practices from internal experts and ecosystem developers, offering beginner, advanced and enterprise-level cases. Its cloud practice center is designed to remove complex environment configuration so developers can open a browser to develop, compile, package and test. The center links cases, code repositories and development environments, allowing developers to jump from a case they are interested in to a cloud environment with one click. HarmonyOS has more than 11 million registered developers, according to the report. Huawei Cloud said HarmonyOS developers face high barriers including unfamiliar syntax, strict specifications and difficult debugging, and that the three capabilities are intended to move HarmonyOS application development from "usable" to "easy to use."
