Huawei unveils Mate XT 2 tri-fold with privacy-screen edition as Apple prepares folding iPhone
Huawei has launched the Mate XT 2 tri-fold smartphone in China with a 10.2-inch display, a privacy-screen special edition and a Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, ahead of Apple's expected folding iPhone reveal.
The phone unfolds to a 10.2-inch inner screen at roughly 3.2K resolution. Huawei describes the new model as sleeker and introduced it in new colors. A special edition of the Mate XT 2 includes a privacy screen, the report said.
The device runs on Huawei's Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, which the company said delivers a 40 percent gain in CPU performance. Android Authority noted that the launch came before Apple is expected to unveil its first folding iPhone later this week.
The report also mentioned Xiaomi is preparing a foldable called the Xiaomi 18 Fold, a design Android Authority said is "too familiar."
