Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro discounted to £199 at Amazon, TechRadar says

TechRadar reports the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is down to £199 in black at Amazon from £249.99. The titanium smartwatch scored 4.5 out of 5 and is presented as a lower-cost Apple Watch alternative with strong fitness tracking.

TechRadar said the discount applies most strongly to the black model. Orange and white versions are also available, but the discounts for those colors are not as good.

In its review, TechRadar gave the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro 4.5 stars out of 5. It said the watch "succeeds, from a hardware perspective, in every way that matters." The review highlighted its high-quality titanium case, accurate metrics and a week's worth of battery life.

TechRadar's reviewer tested the watch while running around the streets of Paris and compared its statistics with a top-tier Garmin Fenix 8 Pro worn on the other wrist, which cost around £1,000 at the time. The Fenix 8 Pro was the best Garmin had to offer until the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro arrived, and it uses the Elevate V5 premium heart rate sensor. Comparing the two watches, their respective average heart rate measurements differed by just 1 bpm.

The reviewer confirmed that the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is accurate and said the titanium casing looks and feels good to wear. TechRadar described it as ideal for runners in particular because of a rich feature set. It includes virtual pacers with snappy animations to keep runs on time, which the publication said is perfect for training through a winter arc ahead of spring races.

TechRadar also said the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is easily mistaken for an Apple Watch at first glance. For buyers who want an Apple Watch Series 12 but do not want to pay launch prices, the publication called the Huawei device an ideal buy over the Apple Watch SE 3. The main sticking point, according to TechRadar, is that it does not work with third-party apps like Spotify and WhatsApp as well as other smartwatches do, and users have to sideload apps via Huawei's AppGallery.
