Hyundai Motor to Supply 480 Hydrogen Buses to Sunjin Group by 2032

Hyundai Motor signed a memorandum of understanding with Sunjin, hydrogen charging infrastructure operator HyNet and other associations to expand hydrogen mobility and related infrastructure. Sunjin operates about 1,700 buses in the Seoul metropolitan area and southwestern South Korea, Yonhap News reported.

Under the agreement, Hyundai Motor will supply the buses in phases through 2032. Existing compressed natural gas stations in Gyeonggi Province will be converted into hydrogen refueling stations. HyNet will build and operate large-scale hydrogen refueling stations to support the expanded fleet.

The MOU links the vehicle supply with the refueling network needed for the hydrogen buses. Sunjin's existing bus operations cover the Seoul metropolitan area and southwestern South Korea, while the infrastructure work under the pact includes the Gyeonggi Province conversion plan and HyNet's large-scale stations.
