iFi's iDSD GR 2 portable DAC/amp launches at $529 with 50% more power, an OLED touchscreen, and K2HD tech, earning a five-star review from TechRadar.

The device, released in June 2026, delivers roughly 50% more amplification power than its predecessor, with enhanced dynamic range and lower distortion. It also adds K2HD technology licensed from JVC Kenwood, which restores warmth and musicality to digital recordings.

TechRadar's reviewer praised the new OLED touchscreen, which addresses the main complaint about the previous model. The display allows users to switch sources, toggle XBass and XSpace processing, and access settings easily.

The review noted that the GR 2 provided articulate, layered, and balanced sound when paired with the Astell & Kern A&ultima SP4000 and headphones such as the Sennheiser HD 600, offering intricate instrument separation, punchy bass, and expressive treble.

The device has a 4,900mAh battery with adaptive power, good for around 7 hours of use, and takes about 3.5 hours to charge. It supports Bluetooth with aptX Lossless and LDAC, USB-C, optical, coaxial, and line-in sources, and has 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs.

TechRadar noted that while the case must be purchased separately and cheaper options exist, the GR 2 offers "impeccable value for money" given its features and lower price than its predecessor's launch price.
